<\/em><\/p>\n“Vehicle production volumes in the Czech Republic managed to grow despite a slight cooling in the main European markets in May. Thanks to this, the Czech car industry continues to support the domestic economy and confirms its resilience and adaptability. The announced investment in the expansion of chip production at onsemi in Ro\u017enov pod Radho\u0161t\u011bm is also extremely good news. This investment will both reduce the risk of dependence on global supply chains and strengthen domestic capabilities in the field of vehicle digitisation. Given the expected growth in the number of chips in vehicles and their value, this is one of the key trends to which added value will be increasingly linked,”<\/em> says Zden\u011bk Petzl, Executive Director of the Automotive Industry Association.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n <\/p>\n In the first five months, 651,935 passenger vehicles were produced in the Czech Republic, i.e. 9.5% more than in the same period of the previous year. Electric vehicles accounted for 50 609 vehicles and their share in domestic car production was 7.7%. A total of 37 171 battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and 13 438 plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs) were produced.<\/p>\n \u0160koda Auto, the largest domestic carmaker, produced 400,877 passenger cars (+6.6%) at its domestic plants in the first five months. 26,633 electric vehicles (BEVs and PHEVs) were produced, i.e. 6.6% of the brand’s total production. Of these, 22,206 were battery vehicles and 4,427 were plug-in hybrids.<\/p>\n Hyundai’s Nosovice plant produced a total of 147,400 vehicles in the first five months, i.e. Cologne-based Toyota also recorded higher production figures year-on-year. 103,658 cars were produced, almost 40% more than in January-May 2023. In absolute terms, 29,259 more passenger cars were produced in Cologne in the period. The Yaris HEV hybrid accounted for more than 50% of production.<\/p>\n In the first five months, 11 fewer buses were produced in the Czech Republic than in the same period last year. The total value of production was 1,872 buses, which represents a 0.6% decrease compared to the previous year.<\/p>\n Iveco in Vysok\u00e9 M\u00fdto produced 1,706 buses, 2.8% less than in the same period last year. SOR Libchavy produced a total of 151 buses in the first five months of this year, i.e. 32 more (+26.9%) than last year. KHMC produced 13 minibuses in the period. In the electric drive segment, a total of Traditional motorcycle manufacturer JAWA Moto has recorded a five-month increase in production.
