<\/em><\/p>\n“The engine of the Czech industry did not stop even during the summer holidays. Despite the period that car manufacturers traditionally use to modify and modernize operations or prepare for the launch of new models, the current production volume remains above last year’s results. The main driver of this year’s growth is \u0160koda Auto, which, thanks to its successful model portfolio, including electric cars, is increasing domestic production and confirming its position as one of the key pillars of the Czech Republic and the VW Group. Other domestic manufacturers are also taking important steps for their future. Hyundai in No\u0161ovice is preparing for the new generation of its successful Tucson model, and Toyota in Kol\u00edn is preparing to produce a battery electric car. This will be the brand’s first plant in Europe where it will include the production of electric cars alongside hybrid models. Behind these projects is the trust of the parent companies in the capabilities of Czech plants and their employees. It is precisely the connection of investments by world brands in new technologies and models that is a promise of the long-term competitiveness of our automotive industry,”<\/em> says Zden\u011bk Petzl, executive director of the Association of the Automotive Industry.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n <\/p>\n In the first eight months of the year, a total of 966,888 passenger vehicles were produced in domestic car factories, which is 1.4% more year-on-year than in the same period last year. In the two summer months of July and August, which are annually dedicated to regular plant-wide holidays, preventive maintenance, installation of new robots, etc., 186,500 passenger vehicles rolled off the production lines.<\/p>\n The largest domestic manufacturer, \u0160koda Auto, continued its excellent results. In the domestic plants from January to August, it produced a total of 648,393 passenger cars, which is 6.2% more than in the eight-month period last year. Electric models also contributed significantly to the positive results, the production of which increased by 24.7% year-on-year, to a total of 169,554 cars produced. Of these, 147,288 were purely electric and 22,266 with plug-in hybrid drive. Overall, electric cars made up over 26.1% of the production of the Mlad\u00e1 Boleslav-based car manufacturer.<\/p>\n In the first eight months, a total of 173,060 vehicles were produced at the Hyundai car manufacturer’s No\u0161ovice plant, i.e. 20,880 vehicles (10.8%) fewer than in the same period last year. Of the total number of vehicles produced, 19,048 had a purely electric drive and 11,123 had a plug-in hybrid drive. Electric cars produced in No\u0161ovice made up more than 17.4% of the domestic car manufacturer’s total production.<\/p>\n Toyota Motor Manufacturing in Kol\u00edn produced a total of 145,435 cars in the reporting period, 2.5% less year-on-year. All of the cars produced had a hybrid drive. The plant is also preparing to expand production to include a purely battery electric vehicle, which will be the first in Europe to be produced by the brand in Toyota’s own plant. The new city model will be produced on a common line with the hybrid models Yaris and Aygo. The automaker is therefore fundamentally adjusting production facilities, building facilities for battery assembly and adapting the logistics of the plant.<\/p>\n Bus production in the Czech Republic increased by 2.8% year-on-year in the period January\u2013August, reaching a total of 3,638 vehicles produced. The largest share of the growth is traditionally attributed to Iveco Czech Republic in Vysok\u00e9 M\u00fdto, which produced 3,199 buses and another 31 built-up vehicles were completed at its sister plant in Foggia, Italy.<\/p>\n A significant year-on-year increase in production was reported by SOR Libchavy, where a total of 425 buses were produced in the given cumulative period, i.e. by 205 units and 93.2% more than last year.<\/p>\n KHMC delivered 14 minibuses, i.e. by 5 vehicles less than last year.<\/p>\n The electrified bus segment achieved a total of 175 purely battery buses produced in January\u2013August, of which 126 were produced at Iveco CR and the remaining 49 at SOR Libchavy. Another 266 hybrid buses were assembled at Iveco Czech Republic.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Jawa Moto, a domestic motorcycle manufacturer, reports a total of 527 motorcycles produced for the period January\u2013August of this year, 2 more than last year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":20217,"parent":0,"template":"","categories":[232],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\n
