Meltingpot 2025/Automated mobility in the Czech Republic – status, challenges and opportunities

About event

Automated mobility is one of the most significant technological trends that could dramatically transform transport, vehicle manufacturing, urban planning and the labour market. With its long automotive tradition, the Czech Republic has the opportunity to keep pace with the rest of the world if it can invest in innovation and strengthen cooperation between academia and industry.
In the debate, an expert from VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava will present projects focused on the development of technologies for automated driving in the Czech Republic. He will be joined by the executive director of the Czech Automotive Industry Association, who will explain how the Czech automotive industry supports the development of automated mobility through legislation and synergistic activities within the national strategy and strategic dialogue at the EU level.
The discussion will address the question of whether industrial infrastructure and a skilled workforce remain key advantages of the Czech Republic and the Moravian-Silesian Region in the current technological transformation.

Organiser: Ostrava + VŠB-TUO

Speakers: Petr Šimoník, Lucie Baránková Vilamová, Zdeněk Petzl
