The VVA seminar was founded in 2008 as a neutral platform for professional inspiration for current and future automotive developers. Already during its first years, it built a unique position in the Czech Republic thanks to its strict focus on specific technical projects. The original focus primarily on automotive (hence its name Development Research Automotive) quickly expanded to other fields such as aviation, space programs, trains and other transportation technology, electronics and basic research. The abbreviation VVA (in English vi: vi: ei) has thus become not only a language play, but also a universal challenge: develop! The lecturers are personalities of technical development, prominent scientists, student teams and inspiring personalities from other fields. The seminar language is Czech and English. The seminar capacity is deliberately limited to a maximum of 120 participants with sufficient space for sharing experiences and discussion. The seminar is regularly held on the second Thursday in November in the pleasant Tree of Life resort in Lázně Bělohrad.
