For the twenty-fourth time, the Automotive Industry Association has announced the winners of the Automotive Business of the Year competition. As in previous years, the three most successful companies in two categories – over and under 250 employees – were announced. The ceremony took place at the Automotive Leaders Forum, a brand new evening event combining lectures on topical issues and a social evening.

In the Business of the Year competition, the basic economic results achieved in 2021 were assessed. The evaluation was based on the following criteria:

  • Economic result before tax (CZK million)
  • Value added per employee (CZK million/employee)
  • Composite revenue criterion
    • Year-on-year change in sales of own products and services (%)
    • Sales of own products and services per employee (CZK million/employee)

All criteria have equal weight and the final ranking of firms is determined by the sum of the rankings according to each criterion. A total of 67 companies participated in the competition.

The awarded companies received traditional handmade original glass sculptures from the workshop of glass master Lukáš Šulc from Železný Brod.

Materials for green roofs are also thriving. And the company is also focusing on other promising fields. The growth in exports is remarkable, literally all over the world. RETEX is a leader in the circular economy. The company’s products are made from recycled materials. The company places great emphasis on research and development. This is carried out together with universities and research institutes. With 250 employees, RETEX is one of the largest employers in the region.

TIBERINA AUTOMOTIVE BĚLÁ spol. s r.o.

Tiberina Automotive Bělá is part of the Italian company Tiberina Group and is based in Bělá pod Bezdězem. It has been operating in the Czech Republic since 2009 and focuses on the production of metal parts for the automotive industry. About 200 employees of the company are involved in the production of parts for well-known automotive brands such as ŠKODA AUTO, STELLANTIS, ADAM OPEL, MERCEDES and others. Thanks to a great team of people, the company manages to acquire new projects, constantly develop and thus fulfill the long-term strategy of the company – expansion and focus on end customers. Care for employees, their development and a good atmosphere at the workplace are one of the company’s basic goals.


FERONA a.s.

Ferona, a.s. is a modern trading company, engaged in the purchase, storage, processing, logistics and sale of metallurgical products, metallurgical secondary products, ferrous and non-ferrous metals on a wholesale basis. Ferona, a.s. operates in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland. Ferona, a.s. includes Steel Service Centres, which are focused on cutting and supplying steel materials for general engineering, construction, electrical industry, white goods and automotive industry.

Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech s.r.o.

Hyundai has been operating in Nosovice since 2008 and has produced almost 4 million cars in that time. These include the Tucson SUV, the i30 compact car and the Kona Electric. Already 40% of the vehicles produced are hybrid, plug-in hybrid or pure electric. Despite the global parts supply problems, Nosovice was able to produce 275,000 cars in 2021, 15% more than the previous year. Hyundai is thus the only passenger car manufacturer in the Czech Republic that managed to increase the number of cars produced year-on-year last year.

Toyota Tsusho Europe Czech Republic Branch has been a major supplier to European customers for over 20 years. It is part of the Toyota Tsusho Corporation, a multinational global business corporation that provides its customers with services and goods in all areas of their business. In the Czech Republic, it enjoys a long-standing interest of its customers and is constantly developing its locations and the range of services provided.
