In the first half of 2025, a total of 747,428 passenger cars were assembled on the lines of domestic manufacturers, 3.5% less year-on-year. In June itself, production already showed a significant year-on-year increase of 11.4%. Higher year-on-year values were also recorded in the production of buses with a total number of 2,759 units (+21.8%). On the contrary, a decrease occurred in the categories of trucks, a total of 550 units (-33%), motorcycles 351 units (-47%) and trailers 9,305 units (-3.5%). The electric vehicle segment, which currently accounts for almost a fifth of total vehicle production, continues to show dynamic year-on-year growth (+137.5%). From January to June, a total of 113,931 pure electric passenger cars, 32,852 plug-in hybrids and 249 pure electric buses were produced.

“Reaching the three-quarter million vehicle production mark and the significant June increase in production in the passenger vehicle segment confirm the return to values that entitle us to an optimistic view of the second half of the year. The dynamics in the electric vehicle segment, which recorded a year-on-year increase of more than 130%, stand out even more significantly. June also became a record month in the production of passenger electric vehicles – compared to the previously record-breaking April, we recorded almost a thousand more vehicles. The driving force behind this growth is Škoda Auto, which produced over 108 thousand electric vehicles in the first half of the year, which now make up more than a fifth of its total production – an average of more than 430 Elroq vehicles, 320 Enyaq vehicles or 105 plug-in hybrid Kodiaq models roll off the production lines every day. These figures show not only the growing demand for domestically produced models, but also the ability of Czech car manufacturers to flexibly respond to changing market conditions,” said Martin Jahn, President of the Association of the Automotive Industry.
