Automotive Day 2024 at CTU

About event

For the third time, the Dejvice campus will be transformed into a car show and the outdoor area in front of the National Technical Library will be filled with the latest electric cars from fourteen car companies. Visitors can look forward to new models from VW Group, BMW, Peugeot, Lexus and Tesla. The hydrogen Tatra Force e-drive will undoubtedly be a “big” attraction. As part of the accompanying programme, test drives and attractive lectures will take place at a parallel conference at the CTU Faculty of Civil Engineering. The entire event is open to the public and free of charge.

Representatives of fourteen leading car manufacturers and importers will present over thirty models of electric and hybrid cars. The traditional participants of the event such as Hyundai, Skoda, KIA, Toyota or Citroen will be joined this year by VW Group, Peugeot, BMW, Toyota’s luxury car manufacturing division – Lexus and last but not least the technological pioneer Tesla.

As in previous years, part of the stand will be stationary, with spectator-appealing models such as the multifunctional VW ID. buzz, the Toyota Mirai hydrogen electric car and new product lines from all participating brands. In addition to the top models, the recently introduced Tatra hydrogen-powered truck and a prototype formula produced by students of the Czech Technical University will also be on display. In addition, a number of models will be available for test drives throughout the day.

The patronage of Automotive Day was again taken over by the Rector of CTU doc. RNDr. Vojtěch Petráček, CSc., who will officially open the event at 10:00 am. The project is also supported by the Mayor of Prague 6 Mgr. Ondřej Kolář, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Automotive Industry Association (AutoSAP), the Association of Automobile Importers (SDA). Long-term cooperation continues with the Czech representation of the association of technical universities EuroTeQ.

Accompanying conference

During the accompanying conference on Contemporary Market Challenges of the Automotive Industry, which this year will newly take place at the nearby Faculty of Civil Engineering in lecture room C223, there will be presentations by experts on current topics – electromobility and other alternative drives, car power systems and increasing demands on infrastructure, AI in Automotive or autonomous driving systems. Automakers will also present their strategies for the near future.

The event is designed for students, academics as well as the general and professional public. It is a unique opportunity to get an overview of the current situation in the rapidly developing sector of eco-mobility, to compare and view the current product range of electric cars and, in addition, to test drive some of them for free.
